Last month (October 19, 2019), JJ turned six months old, and for the past few weeks, I have been kept on my toes! If JJ is not sleeping, he is on the move! From rolling, to crawling (only backwards), sitting up, and just getting into everything, he is a handful. I have absolutely loved watching him grow and learn, but this mama gets a workout daily running after him!

Lately, I can’t take my eyes off of JJ for even a minute before he gets into something, and if he gets quiet, you better make sure he is still where you left him. The other night, my husband and I were letting JJ play on the floor with his toys while we watched a movie. All of the sudden he stopped making his little sounds. We looked down, and he was halfway under the couch! I helped him pretty fast, but not before snapping a video! He also got himself stuck under our fold out table the other day by scooting backwards into it. we are going to have to do some serious baby proofing in the days to come.

A lot of the time, I sit on the floor and play with him. I love making him smile and giggle while we play! He just loves the freedom to roll and scoot around. It is a little stressful at times because I have to make sure he doesn’t get into anything, but it’s so great that he’s so curious. He just wants explore everything! Touching and exploring everything is a great part of learning for little ones.
If I need to do chores or feed JJ, he sits in his walker. He loves scooting backwards in the walker. He hasn’t mastered going forwards yet so he only goes backwards for now. It’s a good way to keep him contained if I need to fold clothes, do the dishes, or even take a quick shower. The walker is definitely a LIFESAVER!

Soon enough my little guy will be running around the house instead of scooting so I need to enjoy every stage that he goes through. He’s growing so much every day! I want to enjoy my little rollie pollie right now while I can!
I hope you enjoyed my short update! Stay tuned for more adventures, stories, and recipes on MamaKatieBlogs!

He is so adorable!! I remember the days when my children were that young. I’m glad you’re taking the time to enjoy him.
Isn’t the crawling backwards thing hilarious? I used to laugh so hard at my daughter trying her hardest to get a toy and scooting farther and farther away instead!
We have this same issue with our 1 year old right now. Omg it’s insane!! lol
