Fun At The Greensboro Science Center

Today was such a fun day! Today my boyfriend and I decided to go to The Greensboro Natural Science Center with our 4 month old son JJ! I had not been there for almost ten years so I really wanted to go see if anything had changed. I remember it being so exciting as a kid so I was super excited to go as a little family!

Just as I remembered, there was so much to do! All of the exhibits were so interactive and kid friendly! The staff was really nice, and they really knew a lot about the exhibits too! There is an aquarium, a weather exhibit, a dinosaur exhibit, a reptile exhibit, an outdoor zoo area, and more! Everything kept us busy for hours!

My personal favorite part was the aquarium! We watched the penguins run around, and there was even a penguin having a stare down with my boyfriend! We thought it was pretty funny! They even had jellyfish, sharks, stingrays, and more! The stingray section was my favorite because you can get close to them, and you can actually even touch them! I could’ve stayed there all day!

We enjoyed all of the other indoor exhibits before going to the outdoor ones. The dinosaur exhibit had a few actual artifacts and bones from prehistoric ages which was pretty cool. They also had a play area for the kids too!

They also have classrooms that are open during the day from open until 1:00pm with demonstrations and hands on learning activities! We didn’t see this until it was too late, but I will definitely be coming back to check it out! Also, there were fun facts everywhere on the walls throughout the museum which I found really awesome! They also have little interactive games and slideshows in just about every room!

It was pretty hot outside today, but I still really enjoyed the outdoor exhibits too! They had everything from alligators and monkeys to donkeys and goats! They also had an outdoor house called the Discovery House that had snakes, bats, armadillos, etc! It was really cool!

My favorite thing outside was a big tortoise minding his own business and eating an apple. I have no idea why, but I was so mesmerized by it! It was so cute! We stood and watched it for probably 20 minutes or so! There was also a place where you could feed farm animals too. We didn’t feed the animals this time, but we definitely will next time we come! It was just so hot outside that we didn’t want to wait to do it.

We came back inside, and we relaxed. They have a nice little cafe inside of the museum! We got a cookie and some drinks for a reasonable price. Things were not priced crazy like they usually are in other places like this. The gift shop also has a variety of things to buy! We got a postcard and a keychain! We didn’t want to go crazy, but we wanted to remember our special day!

I can definitely say that we will be back, and I definitely recommend this place if you want to have some good quality time with your family. It is located in Greensboro, North Carolina! The museum is open from 9:00am-5:00pm, admission is $14.50 per person, and kids under 2 are free. It is totally worth every penny! I’m so glad that my little family had such a fun and special day at The Greensboro Science Center!

This looks like so much fun, I have a 3 month old and have been dying for him to be old enough to take him to places like this!
