Bonding With Video Games!

Last Christmas, I bought my boyfriend a PS4 because I wanted to get him one last really nice gift before I started being a stay at home mom with a tight budget. I’m really glad I bought the PS4 because we moved into our home together in February, and now I get to watch Netflix and YouTube during the day while he’s at work in between housework and taking care of my 4 month old. So I guess you could say we share it now.

When my boyfriend gets home from work in the evenings, he usually relaxes by playing Black Ops or watching Netflix. My boyfriend is super outgoing and fun so if one of my friends are over visiting when he gets home from work, he ropes us into playing Black Ops (which I’m terrible at)! It’s still fun though!

Last Friday, I cooked a ton of food, and we invited over his family (7 people not including us) and one of my best friends! Before everyone came over, my boyfriend went to the store, and he came back with a kids’ racing game! Now that’s something I can play! After eating that night, we all played Uno together, and then we got into the racing game! He is the oldest out of 6 children, and they are all super competitive! It was a really fun time!

Every night since then, my boyfriend and I have been playing a few rounds of that racing game after putting our son to sleep. Playing together helps us let go and enjoy ourselves! It makes us feel like kids because it is a lot like the Mario Kart we played as kids. We laugh a ton, and we pick on each other! We also do small bets too like who has to do the last couple dishes in the sink or something like that.

I know we’ll eventually get tired of that game, but for now I’m really enjoying the bonding time. Usually technology takes us away from the people we love, but sometimes it can also bring people together.
