This week has been an extra big week for this mommy. I have literally seen my little guy turn into a whole different baby overnight! It is so precious to see him grow and do new things, but he has just surprised me so much! He won’t even be 2 months old until next Wednesday (the 19th), but he is just surprising me left and right!
When we brought JJ home from the hospital, he was less than 6 lbs and barely fitting into newborn clothes or newborn diapers! He was so tiny that he could fit in my hands. He would sleep all day in my arms and wouldn’t move a muscle! These past couple weeks, I put him in size one diapers and they fit him perfectly! It started out by me running out of newborn diapers and just using the size ones because I didn’t want to go to Walmart and exchange for newborns, but they went from being kinda big to fitting him perfectly in a matter of days! Also his legs are getting so long and he’s starting to kick them around ALL the time! Haha! He even fit into a 3 month outfit last night!
It’s not only his size that has changed; his personality is totally changing. Well not changing, but he’s just now getting one! He makes all kinds of faces! He also loves when I get in his face and talk. He’s gotten to where he smiles really big and coos at me when I’m talking to him! He also tries to hold up his head now all the time!
Speaking of cooing at me, last night he was really trying to talk to me! During the days when we are home, I talk to him a lot, walk around the house describing things to him and I read to him. He usually just does one sound every little bit, but last night we were hanging out on the couch for a little while and he was so alert just cooing away for about an hour. He was just as happy as he could be! His daddy and I were just cracking up watching him because he’d never been that active! It was a great bonding night for our little family.
He also has started loving watching tv a little while with daddy at night! There is something about when daddy comes home. They love their cuddle time when mommy is cooking supper! I’m so glad I can see the living room from the kitchen because they just look so cute hanging out together. 
One of my favorite milestones yet is that for a week straight now, he has been sleeping anywhere between 6 to 7 hours at a time at night now! We keep him awake in the evening and then he goes to sleep around 9. He’ll stay asleep until 11 or 12 and then he’ll drink his bottle. After that, he usually sleeps until around the time his daddy wakes up at 6 or 6:30. It’s really perfect. He eats and then when daddy leaves we go back to bed for a little while.
One last thing I’ll mention is bathtime! When we brought him home, he HATED water/bathtime. He was so small that his daddy would hold him while I washed him, and he would just scream the whole time. And yes the water was the right temperature.. he just hated it. A couple of weeks ago, I started using the bathtub with the little net. He just laid there. Not happy or mad. Just chilled. Haha. I usually bathe him every 3 days because I keep him pretty clean, but Monday night was bath night! I filled up the tub and put him in the net. I was laughing the whole time because instead of sitting beside the tub just watching him, I had to hold him in place because he kept scooting his little booty down because he was kicking his legs around! He seemed to love it! I let him play and get energy out a while because why not. He still hates his hair being washed but I do that last and get him straight out.
I know this was a long blog, but all of this was so exciting to me. I was going to wait until next week to do his 2 month update with all of this, but now seemed like just as good of a time because it’s all fresh on my mind. I love my little man and I love watching him grow. ❤️
