Lately, life has been teaching me that joy doesn’t always come from the big moments. Sometimes it’s found in the little things we almost overlook.
I think we spend so much time waiting for the next milestone that we forget to enjoy the season we’re already in. So today, I thought it would be fun to share a few simple things that have been making me smile lately. Maybe they’ll encourage you to notice the little joys in your own life too.

Spending More Time Outside 🌿
There is just something about being outside that resets me. Whether it’s sitting on the porch with my coffee, watching the boys explore, or taking a walk, fresh air has a way of slowing my mind down. The world feels a little quieter, and I always leave feeling better than when I went outside. Sometimes we don’t need a vacation—we just need a little sunshine.

Seeing the World Through My Kids’ Eyes 🐢
One thing my boys constantly remind me is that life is full of wonder if we’re willing to slow down enough to notice it. A turtle crossing the road, a frog in the backyard, or a funny cloud in the sky can become the highlight of their entire day. Watching them reminds me that joy doesn’t have to be expensive or extravagant. Sometimes it’s hiding in the ordinary.

Creating Instead of Just Consuming 🎙️
I’ve really been enjoying creating lately. Whether it’s recording a podcast, writing a blog, making YouTube videos, or putting together real estate content, there’s something so rewarding about creating something that didn’t exist before. It doesn’t have to be perfect—it just has to be shared.

Learning New Things 🏡
One thing I’m realizing is that growth doesn’t stop when school ends. Learning real estate, meeting new people, growing my YouTube channel, and challenging myself in new ways has reminded me that we’re never too old to keep learning. Growth can be uncomfortable, but it’s also exciting.

Small Acts of Kindness ❤️
The older I get, the more I appreciate simple kindness. A thoughtful conversation, someone checking in, a smile from a stranger, or a friend cheering you on can stay with us much longer than we realize. Never underestimate how much your kindness might mean to someone else.

Ordinary Days Are Still Beautiful ☀️
I think social media can make us feel like every day has to be exciting to matter. But honestly, some of my favorite days lately have been the ordinary ones—making dinner, laughing with my boys, working on a new project, watching the sunset, or listening to an encouraging podcast while knitting. Those moments may not seem extraordinary, but when you put enough of them together, they create a really beautiful life.

Final Thoughts
If I could encourage you with one thing today, it would be this: don’t overlook the little things. Sometimes they’re the very things we’ll miss the most one day.
Take a walk. Watch the sunset. Call a friend. Laugh with your family. Drink your coffee a little slower.
Life isn’t only happening during the big milestones.
It’s happening right now.
And I think that’s something worth smiling about.
