Letting Go to Grow | A Personal Testimony

Sometimes the hardest decisions aren’t bad decisions. They’re simply decisions that require us to leave what feels familiar.

Lately, I’ve been reflecting on a question:

What if the things keeping us comfortable are also keeping us stuck?

For nearly a decade, I’ve had a work-from-home position that fit my life in many ways. It was familiar, flexible, and comfortable. There was nothing wrong with it. In fact, I am incredibly grateful for the opportunities, relationships, and lessons it gave me.

But over the last few months, I started realizing something important: just because something is comfortable doesn’t mean it’s where God is calling you to stay forever.

As I’ve pursued real estate, homeschooling, content creation, and other goals that God has placed on my heart, I began to feel a growing tension. Not because anyone was doing anything wrong, but because I could no longer give my best to everything at once.

Growth often requires letting go of good things so we can make room for the right things.

That doesn’t mean burning bridges. It doesn’t mean walking away angry. Sometimes it simply means recognizing that a season has served its purpose and having the courage to move into the next one.

I recently heard a quote that stuck with me:

“What is keeping you comfortable may also be keeping you in a cage.”

The more I thought about it, the more I realized how true that can be. Comfort can become a place where we stop stretching, stop trusting, and stop taking the steps God is asking us to take.

Right now, I’m choosing growth over comfort.

Not because it’s easy.

Not because I have every answer.

But because I believe God is leading me into a new season, and I don’t want fear, familiarity, or comfort to keep me from becoming who He created me to be. 🩵
