Hello readers! As most of you know, my husband and I are expecting another precious boy in mid November. I am so happy that our two year old boy will have a little buddy soon! As excited as I may be, I am also a little bit scared. I think every mother has fears during their pregnancies. Adding children to your family is a huge deal! So today I am going to get vulnerable and personal with you guys and tell you some of my honest fears about having our second child.

I am absolutely terrified of giving birth again.
Giving birth is magical, but boy does it hurt! I had my son naturally with no medication, and I can honestly say that it was the most painful thing I had ever experienced. Between me smushing my husband’s hand while screaming, “I can’t do this,” I made it through it! I just have to remember that the pain is only temporary, and then I will have my sweet bundle of joy to hold. I did it once, and I can do it again. My best bet is not to overthink it because everything will work out the way it needs to. Us women are amazing, and we were made for this.

I know that I will not be able to rest.
I remember feeling exhausted when my son was a newborn, and I only had him to worry about. Now I will be watching two little boys. I am so worried that I will never sleep because napping when my newborn naps is no longer going to be an option. I tell myself that I will have to be honest with myself when I need help. I have a wonderful support system so I think everything will be fine.

Will we have enough space?
Babies do not take up much space, but all of their things do! From bouncers to swings to a crib, we will be crowded in our two bedroom trailer. My toddler also loves to scatter all of his things as well so my house will be a little boy bomb, but these days are short, and one day, I will miss ALL of the little things that come with these precious little ones.

My two year old might be too rough.
Okay, this one is definitely one of my biggest fears. My son loves babies, but he’s not great with being easy with animals and humans. Haha. He even tries to slap dogs even though he loves them! I always correct him, but I get nervous that he will want to pick up the baby or play rough with him on accident. I think I will just find little things that he can do that will keep him interacting with me and the new baby so he will learn to handle him the right way. It will be just fine if I keep my eye on him. Plus the fragile stage does not last too long, and before I know it, they will actually be able to play.

Having another breastfeeding journey
I am excited yet terrified of breastfeeding again. Between the blisters, mastitis, leaking and constant demand it brings, it can be overwhelming. Even though breastfeeding is still so amazing to me, it is a lot on the body. Hopefully this time I will have the knowledge to cross those hurdles when the time comes. I breastfed JJ for 2 months shy of two years, and I do not regret it. It was a bonding experience like no other, and it amazed me that my body was helping sustain another human. This time I will just make sure I have a better diet and drink tons of water! It will all work out.

I hope I am able to show everyone in my home equal love.
Last but not least, I really hope that all of my boys will always feel loved. I already have things that fall through the cracks when it comes to taking care of my husband and my toddler. Adding a baby into the mix is going to be wild. Being a stay at home mom, I am sure that I will have plenty of time for my boys, but I also hope that I will be able to give my husband the care that he needs as well. I also have to throw in self care for myself. I love all three of them so I am sure I will be able to just open my arms a little wider, and I will show them how much I love them as best as I can!

Well thank you for reading this blog. I know down in my heart that every single fear I have will be overcame with love. This baby is a huge blessing. I just wanted to share my small fears so that other moms that feel the same way can know that they are not alone. Stay tuned for more blog posts soon!
