Hello readers! Today I want to talk about how I have been changing my mindset to help build a happier and healthier lifestyle. When you feel satisfied in life, it really has so much to do with your mindset and your everyday life choices. In this blog post, I would love to share with you the ten things that have helped me feel more satisfied and content in my daily life. I hope these tips can help you as well!
Listen to “Episode 4: How to Feel Satisfied in Life” on Spreaker.

Stop worrying about what people think.
Be who YOU are! You are fearfully and wonderfully made! Own your spunky personality or your quirky side. Everything that makes you who you are is unique and special! If everyone was the same, we would be so bored!

Be grateful for what you have.
If you have good health, shelter, food, a job, and water, that alone is so much to be thankful for! Some people do not even have those things. There is so much to be thankful for in our everyday life. Take a moment to count your blessings.

Find beauty in the little things.
My two year old LOVES to pick flowers and give them to me. I love it so much. Those little flowers mean a lot to me. Also, I love standing on the porch in the morning to hear the birds chirping. That sounds so insignificant, but it’s so relaxing and beautiful. Any way you can find a way to appreciate life’s little moments, take advantage of it!

Embrace the people around you.
You haven’t talked to your best friend in a while? Make the phone call! Haven’t visited your loved ones in a while? Make the trip. Tell your family you love them. Sometimes in our day to day life, we get to busy to check in on the ones we love, but sometimes we have to slow back down and reconnect with our loved ones.

Do good things without expecting anything in return.
Sometimes when we do things for other people, we want a pat on the back, but that is not always the case. So before you do anything, make sure your heart is in the right place, and you will never regret helping someone.

Take time to travel.
Every now and then, it is so nice to get away from home and breathe in the air of a new place! Our little family loves going on little weekend trips to the mountains or the beach!

Weed out anything in your life that holds you back.
This sounds harsh, but I’m going to be very honest with you guys. Sometimes you have to let go of a job, a person (or group of people), or bad habits that could potentially hold you back in life. Sometimes that is the only way to move forward in life.

Do not hold a grudge.
Okay.. I learned this one the hard way. There used to be a coworker that I worked with a few years back, and I could not stand her! The thought of her (even when I was away from my workplace) boiled my blood. She was just rude to everyone all of the time, and when she was confronted, she would make “poor me” excuses. Anyways, one day, I was telling my mom about it and she told me something I will never forget. She said, “Having bad feelings towards her is only going to hurt you.” That is so true! If you hold a grudge against someone, odds are, they have already forgotten about the matter, and you are still miserable. Instead of letting yourself feel miserable, let things go. I promise, you will feel better!

Give all of your worries to God because he is happy to take them from you.
Are you worrying about something? If so, give your cares to God in prayer. All I know from personal experiences, is that when I talk to God about my problems and worries, he is faithful to help lighten the load.

Know that every day is a gift.
You never know how long you will have left in this life. Try to enjoy the day that you’re in! You are never promised tomorrow!

I hope you enjoyed this blog post! I know that there is a lot to soak in, but I hope you got something encouraging from all of it. If you have anything to add to the list, feel free to share your thoughts in the comments!
Stay tuned for more blog posts soon!
