My 2 year old son and I love to go for walks up and down our driveway. I love to see his little legs just strolling next to mine. As we walk, he has to stop to look at everything. When he sees a flower, we stop to look at it. When he sees a stick, we have to pick it up! Rocks and pine cones are pretty interesting too! Haha! The world is just so exciting to his little mind, and I love to watch his enthusiasm for the world around him.

As we walk, he often give me things to hold onto. Flowers, sticks, worms, rocks, you name it! I always have at least one hand full of goodies when we return home that he gets excited about all over again! To us adults, sticks, rocks, and flowers do not look like much, but to a toddler, it is treasure!
Today while my son and I were walking, he stopped at a small rock and smiled at me. He picked it up, and he gave it too me with the biggest smile and just said, “Mama rock!” It was a pretty ordinary rock, but the fact that he gave it to me like it was a diamond touched my heart. I never left it outside like I do with our usual findings. I actually brought it inside, and I put it with my keepsakes.
Am I crazy for keeping a rock? Maybe. Are there thousands more in my driveway? Absolutely! It’s not about the rock. It’s about what it means to me. I’ll look at that rock years from now and remember my sweet little boy walking beside me. I’ll miss these times, but for now I’m going to cherish every walk and every little treasure that we find.

I plan on posting once a week again. I want to make content for all of you to enjoy. I want to write recipes, stories, advice, and more so stay tuned! ❤️

My two year old is the same! I can’t even tell you how far I’ve had to carry his favorite sticks, rocks, or dandelion stems (not the flower, just the stem) while we go on our neighborhood walks!
Exploring is so good for learning. I hope you enjoy your walks with your little one just as much as I do! ❤️
I totally get why you kept that rock 😍 Two years is such a fun age, and your son is really cute. . My son is 9 now, and sometimes I really miss that age, even though 9 year olds are easier 😀
Thank you! It is a fun age, but boy am I tired! Lol!
Such a cute post! My almost teens sometimes will bring small souvenir and give me for safe keeping:) Enjoy motherhood ❤️
My daughter hands me the most random things and I keep them all!
