Hello readers, if you have been reading any of my blog posts for the last few months, you have probably noticed a common topic weaved throughout my blogs. That topic is “Toddler Life.” Today I wanted to change things up a little bit. Instead of writing about my experiences, I want to share with you the experiences of other toddler moms!
I asked several of my friends that have toddlers the same loaded question, “In your words, what is your life like raising a toddler?” I got some really great responses, and I am so happy that these young women were willing to contribute to this post and share their world with us from their hearts and in their own words. So I hope you enjoy reading these responses as much as I did!

“While raising a child, I’ve come to realize that when everyone said, “having kids is the hardest thing but the best thing you’ll ever do,” they were right. In a perfect world, I’d love to say we’ve got it all together and down in a perfect routine but to be honest my life while raising a toddler is hard. It’s full of chaos, busy schedules and some days a lot of frustration. Most of the time all the things that “need” to get done don’t, there isn’t always a perfectly balanced healthy meal on the table every night, and my life may be full of potty training mishaps or meltdowns but it’s also full of hugs, kisses, growth and so much love! It’s amazing how a little human can be so forgiving and so caring… He doesn’t care if everything is perfect, he cares that I’m there and no matter how much I may mess up he still looks at me with the same amount of love everyday. So my life raising a toddler may not be easy or anywhere close to perfect, but it is absolutely worth every second of it.” -Anonymous mama of an almost 3 year old.

“Raising a toddler can be very difficult sometimes through the temper tantrums, the sleepless nights, and all of the above, but also at times it is so enjoyable. After a long hard day, their hugs and kisses make it all better. It is hard trying to teach them life skills such as manners, potty training, along with educational skills such as numbers, abc’s, ect. Raising a toddler is definitely complex but definitely rewarding in the end!” -Melody, mama of 2 year old Skylan

“Life raising a toddler is an adventure filled with joy, laughter, and sometimes tears. I bet I say, “Get down from there” and “Stay out of that” about a million times a day. Lol!” – Erinn, mama of 19 month old Thea

“Oh my. Life with a toddler is absolutely unpredictable. I cannot tell if I’m coming or going. Due to appointments twice a week, screaming dinosaurs (Lauren running around screaming with her Dino hat on), and pretending to eat all sorts of fake foods. My days are always new. Nothing is ever the same. I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world! Not even sleep!” -Emily, mama of 3 year old Lauren

“Hello, my name is Emily, and I am a mom of two. I am 20 years old and my son is 1 and a half and my daughter is 9 months old. Being a mother is a very beautiful and precious thing, but it can be challenging sometimes. It does have its smooth days and it does have some really rough days, but that’s all part of being a mom. I would say it is harder having two small children close in age. It is the most challenging thing I’ve had to do, but I wouldnt trade my life for the world. Also, you can learn many things from your children like how much patience you have and how much you can love someone. It’s not so bad when you get a grip of things and have a schedule and a routine. Right now it’s the toughest time because my son is about to turn 2 in November and he is going through the terrible 2’s stage. He wants to be into everything. There are also times where both of them start crying at once and I’ve tried everything (feeding, changing their diapers, playing with toys with them, even going for a walk outside), but even that doesn’t work sometimes. There is one thing I like to do. I sing to them and talk about Jesus and that calms them down a lot. My daughter is just now getting to where she wants to sit up and grab everything she can get her hands on. She was a preemie so it has taken a little longer for her to do things that a preterm baby would do at her age. She loves to say momma and clap her hands. There are struggles, but there are also lots of love and cuddles and definitely lots of funny moments like when my son sees his sister in her bouncer, and he thinks that she is gonna fall so he pushes her back gently to make sure she is safe. He loves to play peek a boo and say boo! He is definitely a character and so is my daughter. To all of the mothers that are having a rough time, I promise it will get better. Just pray about it, and ask God to show you the way. You’re not alone! All of us mothers have tough times, and we gotta push through it, but we will all get through it with God by our side.” –Emily, mama of Aiden (1 1/2) and Olivia (9 months)

“Life raising a toddler is like riding a roller coaster. There’s the ups and downs. It’s the getting really really happy, then all the way to the screaming tantrums. It’s also hearing words and sentences that don’t make sense to others, but perfect since to me. It’s learning something new every single day. It’s songs and dance moves, and hearing “I love you mommy” to “I don’t like you” the next. I love every moment of raising my toodler even tho I can say it’s way harder than the “newborn” stage. It’s running, laughing, dancing. And TONS of learning. It’s FULL TEETH smiles and eating everything on a plate. It’s watching what you say and watch on TV. It’s the most rewarding moment in my life to watch my daughter learn her abcs, her numbers, colors, favorite songs by memorization. It’s watching my beautiful newborn baby grow with a blink of an eye to this little girl who is full of hugs smiles and kisses. Enjoy every moment of the baby stage because before you know it they are two.” – Destinie, mama of 2 year old Emberleigh

“Every mom knows what it’s like to be a parent to a toddler, but not every mom knows what its like to have a boy AND a girl toddler at the same time (18 months apart to be exact). A Momma’s Boy and a Daddy’s Girl. Its getting to build Lego towers and learning to paint little nails. It’s getting to do cute little braids and spiked up mohawks. Its getting to see and enjoy every milestone and every challenge they throw at you. It’s also fighting over who I’m building the Lego tower for, why brother can’t have his nails painted pink too, and why sister can’t have her long hair in a mohawk. It’s potty training two at the same time, two different ways! Having your son whip it out anywhere and having your daughter trying to pee standing up in the driveway (we’re still trying to break this)! It’s learning to teach my son how to be a kind, loving, respectful young man, and teach my daughter to be strong and independent. Its a whirl wind of emotions and challenges. Its literally the best of both worlds and I wouldn’t have it any other way!” -Ashley, mom of Lakoda (4 years old) and Emry (3 years old)

My middle child is 2 and a half, and I just love this age! His mannerisms are so cute and he gives the best hugs!!
My son is two as well 😊 It is a hard age at times, but I love him so much.
I love these stories, and I can so relate. My son is 9 now, but there are so many fun memories from that age. My son and I love to look back at old photos and videos from that age, at all the funny things he said and did. 😊
Toddler life is chaotic, but oh so beautiful!
I have a 2 year old (and have experienced this age twice previously with my older boys) and it is the age when you can really start to see their heart at work. They are so sweet and want to be so helpful, but they are also asserting their new found independence and make a lot of messes.
I can relate to many of these stories. I remember my kids toddler days and it was always an adventure.
