My Morning Coffee Ramblings: My Wandering Mind

On this beautiful and sunny Monday morning, I am sitting at my dinner table with my “Mama Bear” coffee mug in hand. I have already drunk half of my delicious coffee with caramel creamer (my favorite), and I have so many thoughts running through my mind. It is 8:00am currently, and I know I have at least an hour until my son wakes up for the day. While I am sipping the rest of my coffee, I would love to share with you my current thoughts.

Life has been good. Even with the COVID sickness still going on, JJ, Javier, his family, and I (10 people in total) got to go on a weekend getaway to Myrtle beach last week (July 1-3). We had a wonderful time walking on Broadway at the Beach, playing in the ocean, and we even took a helicopter ride over the ocean! I was worried about my son’s schedule getting messed up, but he did great, AND he slept through the night both nights we were there. Also, I felt safe with all of the precautions that everyone was taking there at the beach in local stores as well. We had a great time.

Another thing in my mind is that my beautiful sister is going to be 39 weeks pregnant this week. She could go into labor literally any day now. She is having a little girl, and I cannot wait to meet her. I am praying for a safe and healthy delivery for mama and baby.

Also, there is something that I want to talk about that is NOT working for JJ and I… Weaning. My son is 15 months old this month, and no matter how much I offer him sippy cups, he will not take them if we are at home. He is all over me, and he is always pulling on my shirt and pointing at my chest. Some days are better than others, but when I can’t get anything done because of it, I get really frustrated. Plus it has been really hot, and having 20 pounds of child on you 24/7 can get uncomfortable. I will update on this subject once I find something that finally works for us. I do not regret breastfeeding because it was a great experience, but this mommy feels done. I feel like I need to add that even though I seem really irritated while discussing this, I love my child with all of my heart, and I understand that he feels comforted while I am breastfeeding him so I will be looking for alternative ways for us to bond together.

Lastly, one really big thing I’m thinking about is that I have to go back to work at the end of the month. I have been out of work since the end of March due to the Coronavirus. We were closed for a while because of the virus at first, but now my boss is doing renovations. I work at a restaurant so there will be a really big changes with safety precautions (not complaining). I am just a little anxious because I have been staying home with my son, and I’m about to go back out into the public. At least I only work part-time. I know this seems petty because there are millions of people that have worked full-time this whole time, but it will definitely change things up from the routine I finally have created for my son and I. Oh well. Change makes the world go round! We will take it one day at a time.

I have loved having this time with my son.

Well those were my morning coffee ramblings! I hope you enjoyed reading this. If you did, leave me a comment, and I’ll do this again some time. This was my way of updating you guys on some random things going on that I wouldn’t necessarily make a blog about. Now I need to get on with my day. I have a lot of cleaning and momming to do today! Stay safe and have a great week everyone! ❤️

Loved reading your morning ramblings! Breastfeeding is a tough journey for sure. So worth it but tough. I weaned both of mine by 12 months (my son weaned himself when I was pregnant with my daughter). Weaning is a process and some babies do it fast and easy and others take their time. Best of luck!

Thank you for your encouragement! We are taking it one day at a time! ❤️

Love reading your coffee ramblings! It’s amazing the sheer number of things mom’s have got on their mind and I hope your sister has a safe and healthy delivery and remember things have a way of sorting themselves out slowly maybe but surely! Just know you are doing your best and the best will come back to you.

There is so much to think about right now. It was nice to hear what is going on in other mom’s heads with the COVID concerns.

I loved this post! I will definitely be subscribing. Morning coffee ramblings are the best! Good luck with weaning! I have no advice, but I’m sure I’ll need some in the future 😉

Thank you! I will definitely be writing a post on weaning once we are weaned! ❤️

Nice update! We live next door to Myrtle Beach but haven’t visited in a while because of COVID fears. Good to hear they’re taking precautions at Broadway.

Yes! They were so good about social distancing and mask requirements! 😊

First off, love your mug! I know how upsetting going back to work can be. try not to think too far into the future, Take it day by day.

Thank you! Yes, as mothers we can only live one day at a time ❤️

Fun read! I admire the positive attitude you’re taking towards it all. So many changes, and all we can do is embrace them with grace:)
