Lately I have been having some personal problems. There have been certain circumstances giving me anxiety. A small part of it is flu season vamping up, and some family members have had colds and sicknesses. Then I have someone in my life that constantly tears me down and makes me doubt myself. I am constantly reminding myself that JJ is MY child, and I will do what I think is best for him. I shouldn’t care what others think if I am doing my best.
In saying all of this, most of my worries are completely out of my control. That’s when I have to remind myself that I need to give all of my worries and fears to God in prayer. He holds the entire world in his hands so he is more than able to handle my problems. It is also so comforting to know that God is never asleep or “off the clock.” He’s always there! 2:00pm or 2:00am, he’s there to listen. It melts my worries to know that.
Two nights ago, I was tossing and turning, and I couldn’t fall asleep. Then JJ woke up crying so I went to the living room to get him out of his crib. I just held him, and I walked around the house. I started praying about everything. I literally prayed about anything that came to my mind. Eventually I sat down on the couch, and I kept praying. Soon enough JJ and I were both peaceful and sleepy. Prayer does wonders for the heart and mind.
The past few days, I have been reading a book my mom lent to me called The Power of a Praying Parent by Stormie Omartian. It is about her experiences of how prayer has helped her care for her children when things aren’t in her control.

Lord, my son is the biggest ‘care’ I have, and I release him into Your hands. Only You can raise him right and truly keep him safe. I will no longer strive to do it all by myself but will enter into full partnership with You. (Omartian p. 31)
I have started a prayer journal to write my own concerns and prayers. I am going to be very detailed and personal in my journal. I want to see what God will do in our lives. He’s already done so much for our little family. We definitely wouldn’t be where we are today if it wasn’t for the prayers of the people who love us.

We may not know what will happen tomorrow, but I can have peace knowing that God holds the future.

This is great Katie! God is your strength.
What a wonderful idea! I have a prayer journal too, this is inspiring me to write down prayers for my kids too.
This is such a wonderful idea, I love it! Someday you can show him this journal and he can see the love you have for him and how much you prayed for him.
This is beautiful. I’m going to start one too. Thank you for sharing❤️
I love this- what a treasure for him when he grows up, too.
Aww this is so sweet. A great idea too. Think i’ll start one now.
I LOVE this so much. I really think I may start doing this and I might have to go get that book and give it a try. I haven’t been the best Christian lately, so to speak. But since I have learned that I am pregnant I have found myself moving closer to God again.
