I really had a great day today! Since Sunday is the first day of the week, it felt like a have a fresh start today. Last week had a few very rough moments for our little family, but I feel like this week will be so much better for us!
This morning we slept in, and then I made us some brunch! I made sausage, eggs and pancakes. After we ate I tried something new! JJ was in his little walker so I mixed some baby cereal with my breastmilk, and I fed him a little with a little spoon. Jj’s pediatrician had recommended cereal at his 4 month appointment, but I didn’t think he was quite ready.
For the past several nights, JJ has been waking up 2 or more times during the night to feed so I thought it might be time to give him cereal just incase breastmilk isn’t enough. He did okay! It took a couple times of putting the spoon in his mouth for him to understand it, but he got the hang of it! Then after a while, he just got fussy because he wanted to play with the spoon! I think I will try feeding him like that once a day until he gets used to it, but it was kind of a success!
For most of the day, I caught up on laundry, dishes, and other housework while my boyfriend worked on his car. I felt super accomplished! I also felt accomplished because little man took his first nap in his big boy crib! I want to try to transition him to his crib soon. Anyways, I was glad that I accomplished all of that because I won’t have to do it tomorrow!
My boyfriend also treated me to a nice dinner out tonight! I try cook most of the time so it was super nice to be treated! We went to a Mexican restaurant in town. I got an Aloha Burrito (pineapple and chicken covered with cheese), and my boyfriend got a fajita burrito! Yum yum! We always get 2 different things and then we split everything in half! It’s just something we’ve always done. I had the most handsome dates, and some awesome food! It was an all around good time.
Even though today doesn’t sound exciting to most people, it was one of the best days I have had in a long time! JJ was in a great mood, I got things done, and our little family had some quality family time. It honestly doesn’t get much better than that to me! I’d say this week is off to a great start!
