I had a sick feeling in my gut as I was almost at the cash register to pay for my things at the grocery store yesterday. Before leaving the house, I asked my boyfriend for a little money because I’m a stay at home mom, and I don’t even have a penny to my name. So he gave me a $100 bill. When it was time to pay, I reached in my pockets and the $100 bill was gone. It had been a bad day already for me, and that just made it worse. I rechecked my pockets and my purse. It was nowhere. I ended up swiping my credit card to pay for everything because I didn’t even have enough on my debit card because I just paid all of the bills.
As I was putting my card back in my wallet, I was fighting back tears and embarrassment. To make things worse, I dropped my wallet on the ground spilling change everywhere. I left the store in tears. I cried and cried on the drive home. My boyfriend works so hard, and here I am losing money like it’s nothing. I looked EVERYWHERE for that $100 bill, but I’m so sad to say that it’s gone for good.
I didn’t write this post for sympathy. I’m just writing it to kind of let it go. I’ve cried over it. I’ve lost sleep over it. It’s not coming back. I have to stop beating myself up about it. In a few months, it’ll just be a memory. Anyone that has ever taken care of a crying baby all day could understand that a mom rushing to the store might misplace something.. Even something that important.
I know that money isn’t that big of a deal. I was just upset because it wasn’t even mine. My boyfriend works so hard so I can stay home with the baby. He trusts me with his money to buy things and pay our bills. Even though he didn’t get angry, I still feel like I let him down.
I hope the person that found it needed it. I hope that it went towards a family’s groceries this week or that it helped someone pay a bill. Or I hope when I look again later, it will turn up. I looked pretty hard, but I was tired and frantic. One day I’m going to have a goldmine though because I’m amazing at losing or hiding things from myself that I’m yet to find. *rolls eyes*
So yesterday was not my day, but I hope to have a better day today. God will help me through it. I also hope that my baby will be in a better mood today. That would help my mental state. I know money isn’t everything, and this post was probably dramatic, but it was a big deal to me. Please leave a comment and some positive vibes in the comments. ❤️
*This is my face when I think about this situation*

I hate that feeling, that is such a horrible and defeating feeling!! I’m so sorry that you had such a rough day and that this happened to you, hopefully things get better and it turns up somewhere unexpected. And maybe if it turns out that it’s really gone for good, it went to another mother having an equally rough day, not knowing how she was going to pay for food for her kids. You never know, your unfortunate luck may have been someone else’s blessing that they were needing. Stay strong and positive, you’re doing a fantastic job and being a mom is a really hard job. You’ve got this mama!
