Today was my first Mother’s Day being a mom. It was amazing! I got to wake up to my son’s sweet little face and know that today was going to be special. I went to my parents’ church this morning and won a gift for being the youngest mother present! Then we had a cookout with my family afterwards . Also my son gave me a little surprise by having his first projectile spit up. Haha. Anyways, Mother’s Day is when you really reflect on how much you love your mom and appreciate her. I know I wouldn’t be where I am today if it wasn’t for my mom.

When I think about the type of mother I want to be, my mind always comes back to my mom. My mom is the most kind, loving and patient person I’ve ever met. She ALWAYS puts everyone before herself. My sister and I have never had to wonder if she had time for us because she always made time. She has always been there through good and bad. Even when I was going through my bratty teenage phase or the phase when I wanted to be independent and always told her I wanted to move out, she never stopped loving me even though I gave her a million reasons not to.

When I found out I was pregnant, I was still living at home at the time. I was so worried that it would ruin the relationship we had, but she cried with me and helped me through it. She was there for me the whole pregnancy and is an awesome grandma to my little man. She’s even the best mother in law my boyfriend could ask for! Haha. I could never put in words how much I love her.
So saying all of this, I’m so glad for the privilege to be a mother, and I’m so thankful for the mother I have. I hope you all had a wonderful Mother’s Day. ❤️
