Today my little man is 2 months old! I really can’t believe how fast time is going! This morning my mom came over to go with me to JJ’s 2 month appointment at 11:00 am. Man, I’ve been dreading this day with him getting his shots for about a week now.
On the bright side, the doctor said he was perfect! He weighs almost 10 pounds already, and he’s 22 inches long. My baby is growing so fast! He was even talking and smiling at the nurses that were doing the checkup. Then they did his shots. He was so sad. It wasn’t even a pain cry, but more like a sad pitiful cry that made my mommy heart so sad. I know it’s for his good and it’s necessary, but it still was not fun at all.
I cuddled him until he calmed down and then put him in his car seat. My mom and I went out to eat, and he just slept. Then my mom came back to my house with me for a while and he stayed asleep for the most part then too. But it seemed like less than five minutes after my mom left, he woke up and started sobbing and screaming. It really broke my heart to hear him sound so sad.
When he wouldn’t calm down, we went into his room, sat in the rocking chair and I just cuddled him really close. I ended up having to do skin to skin time to soothe him. I sang to him, prayed with him and talked to him until he fell back asleep. I actually ended up enjoying that sweet hour with my sweet boy.
Tonight, his daddy and I have just continued to love on him and comfort him. He’s already feeling much better! I know this wasn’t a big deal, but he’s my world. I can’t wait to keep seeing him grow as the months go on. I know it’s only been 2 months, but I couldn’t imagine our lives without this little guy!
P.S. I took his 2 month pictures yesterday knowing today could be rough so enjoy the cuteness!
